A Summers Morning.jpg
Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks form the backdrop of this well photographed location at Buttermere in the Lake District. Captured on a calm summers morning
Pastel Sky's.
A image from the magical River Brathay.
Despite the mist being thinner that I would have liked, and the sunrise not providing any direct light on to the scene, the pastel coloured sky did provide some interest for a short period of time.

The Quiraing Landscape
A photo from our first visit to the Quiraing, were totally blown away with the views. Looking towards Cleat and Dun Dubh in the distance. The scale of this place is amazing
The Pinnicle.
The Old man of Storr from the higher view point. A long hard slog of a climb to reach this viewpoint, in gale force winds and horrendous showers. when I reached the viewpoint i could not stand on the ridge as I was being blown off my feet so I ducked down below the ridge line to take these images of an outstanding view.
Sligachan Bridge.
A view of the Old Sligachan Bridge with the snow capped Cuillin Mountains in the background. I stood waiting for the light to arrive at the bridge where it illuminated the underside of the arches to enhance the interest in the foreground.
River Etive.
This image was taken on the edge of Rannock Moor where the River Etive begins its journey towards Loch Etive. The dappled light illuminating the Munros at the top of Glencoe
Old Man of Storr.
I arrived before sunrise to wait for the rising sun to make an appearance, hoping that it would hit the Old Man and the Old Man of Storr from the west. Needless to say i was not disappointing on this occasion.
Stob nan Cabar
I had an extremely wet and arduous climb up Beinn a' Chrulaiste to get to this viewpoint looking towards the snow capped Stob nan Cabar where I used the River Coupall and the A82 road as leading lines in to the scene.
Neist Point Lighthouse.
My second visit to this location provided me with the weather conditions that produced this image. In between heavy showers and a extremely strong wind I found a gap in the weather to allow me to capture a moody sky set against the turquoise colours of the sea.
Abadour Pier.
I managed to locate this old pier around mid-day the sun was shining, but a very strong wind was being whipped up towards where i was standing. i used a long exposure to flatten the rough seas which also captured the detail in the old wooden supports of the pier.
The Cauldron Falls.
I arrived at the falls to find that there was not a great deal of water flowing over them, however this allowed me to position myself below the falls in the middle of the river to capture this 5 shot panoramic of the falls. in normal conditions it would be impossible to get to this position, which adds an element of originality to the image.
The Cuillins from Elgol.
A long exposure from the shore at Elgol looking towards the Cuillin Mountains. The light was constantly changing due to the clouds being whipped across the sky by the strong winds, a little patience resulted in me capturing the dappled light falling on the scene.
The Forth Rail Bridge.
I was so fortunate to get to the forth road bridge on this evening, my only night in Edinburgh on this visit. The setting sun adding colour to the sky has the d became illuminated by the floodlights'. I took 6 separate photos and blended these together to produce this panoramic image. A long exposure was used to flatten the movement in the waters surface.

The Three Sisters.
The A82 road runs along side these magnificent mountains from where there are several viewing places. In order for me to include all three mountains I needed to compile a panoramic image of the scene, I also wanted to gain some height so that i could exclude the car parks and the hundreds of vehicles that travel on this road.
Dawn Side Light.
The first snow of the winter arrived on the night before i visited Hallin Fell on the shores of Ullswater in the Eastern Lake District. Despite a gale force wind and sub-zero temperatures, I managed to capture this panoramic shot of the two valleys in lovely soft lighting conditions.
Borrowdale Old Mill.
It took me some considerable time to find this location, and what a location. I visited in autumn in the hope of catching some autumnal colours and a reasonable amount of water in the stream.
Loch Achnambeitharch Reflections.
The previous day in Glencoe had been a wash out, I was up early on this cold autumnal morning and planned to visit Loch Achnambeitharch in the hope that there would be some reflections on the water. Needless to say, i was not disappointed.
The River leads the way.
The weather on this day was superb, following a couple of days of murky wet weather. I hiked along the shore of the river bank looking for a suitable leading line towards the Buachaille Etive Mòr. The mountain was being light by the warm autumnal sun in the south eastern sky
The Waterfall and The Monroes.
The day before rained most of the day, the forecast for the following day was very good, so I headed for these falls thinking that their would be a substantial flow of water over them.
Mystical Vista
This photograph was taken on a lovely summers morning on the south end of Derwent Water looking north towards Keswick and the Skiddaw range of fells, the sunrise was a hour or so earlier, but the calm conditions resulted in the mists remaining for some considerable time.
Misty Dawn
This photograph is a seven image panoramic shot taken from Latrigg looking towards St Johns in the Vale on a spring morning with Low Rigg and High Rigg rising through the clouds.
Carrock Fell Sunrise
I climbed to the top of Carrock fell twice in three days to get this shot.
Looking east over the Eden Valley towards the Northern Pennines.
The sunrise conditions make the shot.

Blea Tarn Rainbows
Very strong winds and constant showers greeted me when I arrived at Blea Tarn on this occastion. I was struggling for a composition when the weather conditions produce two rainbows right in front of me, a mad scramble ensued to grab my camera and capture the scene.
Crummock Stones
A cold winters sunrise found me at Crummock Water where I used these rocks as a leading line into the scene. Flat calm conditions providing lovely reflections of Mellbreak in the distance
Mist and Reflections.
A very early start to get to the River Brathey in time for sunrise on a cold frosty morning. The conditons were amazing, below freezing temperatures, mist in abundance and a rising sun to the east, just a matter of setting up and waiting for the show to begin.
